AT HOME WITH A NEW BABY

June 16th - June 21st, 2008

We had until 10:00pm to leave the hospital, and we decided to wait until then to go. Just before leaving we took one last picture of Brian holding Dean.

And then also just before getting in the car, we got a shot of me with our post-delivery nurse Rebecca. She was also really nice, and very helpful!

Dean looked SO TINY in his car seat! He almost didn't look real!

The next morning came after a long night with many feedings. Vaughn was up bright and early. He came into our bedroom, and the minute he saw Dean, he seemed to remember that he did in fact have a new brother. He immediately climbed up into bed next to him, rested his hand on Dean's head and smiled.

And then the two of them slept for a little longer!

The next day Bubby dropped by with Autumn and Prairie to give us some homemade cake that Emily had made. Emily wound up coming a little later because he Yoga class was cancelled. Here's Bubby holding little Dean.

Autumn wasn't quite sure if she wanted to hold Dean or not. So Bubby just took some extra time with the little guy.

Prairie however, wanted to hold Dean the second she walked in the door. Here she is testing the waters with Brian.

And of course, Brian was more than happy to let her touch Dean. It was nice to see them, and Emily, the cake was delicious!
