Mom Higginson's Birthday Party

We all get really excited when Mom Higginson's birthday comes up each year. She is always doing so much for us throughout the year, and her birthday is one opportunity for us to give back to her. I decided to being this blog with a nice picture off my nephew Sammy. He loves sweets, and as you can see here, he is really excited to get some pie into his belly!

Forgive me Riley and Julie, but I had to put this in! Of course, during any party we have to clown around at various times, and I think Riley and Julie were trying to show their seductive sides in this shot. What do you think?

Here's my niece Kimball and her mom Amy (Brian's sister). They were having fun just talking about things.

I thought this one of Julie and Vaughn was cute. Julie has the same problem we do when we see Vaughn. We just have to pick him up and hold him and hug him!

Mom even took a minute to sit down and relax. Cute Mom is always bustling about the kitchen, and I have to threaten to tie her down at times to get her to rest! It was cute to see her sitting there with her birthday pies displayed in front of her.

Alex was trying to hold in her excitement about the pies and the presents. She looked so cute just standing there waiting! So we decided to go ahead with gifts and goodies!

Here's Mom opening our gift to her. I gave her an assortment of home-bottled goods I thought she might like. Here she is holding some apple pie filling.

We also gave her some bottled Concord grape juice. Mom seemed to really appreciate this too.

We also gave her some bottled peaches. Peaches were very scarce this year in Utah because we had a late freeze. So when a kind neighbor of mind bought me some peaches to bottle, I knew I had to share with Mom too because she really likes them!

Mom wasn't upset in this picture, she was just being very serious when she thanked us for the bottled goods. Mom is always very appreciative of this kind of stuff!

And here is pretty much my favorite picture of Mom Higginson ever! I love the blouse she's in. And I love the smile she's giving! AND she's eating lemon merengue pie, which happens to be a favorite of hers. She just seems so happy! We are so grateful for you Mom! Thanks for everything you do, and for being such a wonderful example and friend to all of us!
